Donnalucata and surroundings:


Sicily is known around the world as the land of sun, but also for its vast artistic and cultural heritage, its rich gastronomic offer and the hospitality of its people.

Currently in Sicily we have the following sites included in the World Heritage List:
- The archaeological area of ​​Agrigento
- The Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina
- The Aeolian Islands
- The baroque city of Val di Noto: Caltagirone, Militello Val di Catania, Catania, Noto, Palazzolo, Modica, Ragusa and Scicli.


The latter were rebuilt after 1693, in the same place or close to existing cities at the time of the earthquake of that year. They represent a considerable collective undertaking, brought to a high level of architectural and artistic achievement successfully.

Few kilometers from Donnalucata, you can reach Scicli, Modica and Ragusa, beautiful baroque city, UNESCO heritage.
Here the coast  is above all of golden sand and  interrupted by the strong colors of the overturned boats, the countryside is dominated by stone walls that define pastures and properties; the hot stones reflect a golden light, the baroque churches stand out on a maze of walls and window sills, specifically designed to boost the size of domes and bell towers.

In the territory of the ancient County of Modica,  Carob trees are an integral part of the landscape plant, and cover considerable interest agronomic, economic and cultural.


Among the typical products there is honey carob ( "carrua"), with the typical smell of carob flowers, and the orange blossom honey that remember the sun of Sicily.


The rich and spontaneous presence of olive trees, that stand along the hilly expanse,   the organoleptic qualities and the fineness of their olive oil, have made recognize   olive oil of Chiaramonte under the brand D.O.P..


The Caciocavallo is one of the oldest and appreciated cheeses. What sets it apart, in addition to its unmistakable shape of a parallelepiped, is the high quality of the milk and the ancient processing method.


The hilly land, the sun and the sea breeze, in conjunction with the mild temperature, can not but give a fabulous grape to the territory.
Cerasuolo di Vittoria D.O.C.G.  is one of the most precious nectar of Trinacria, full-bodied wine and mainly composed of grapes Frappato Vittoria and Nero d'Avola, with a minimum alcohol content of 13 degrees. 
The name derived from its particular color, a red that recalls that of the cherries, or by a "rosacea berry" produced by a shrub known by the name of Kerasos.

Alongside the richest crops, stands the "cosaruciaru" Bean of Scicli (in dialect "sweet thing"),  recognized by Slow Food, because of its white-cream color with small reddish-brown streaks at the base of the hilum.
